The Symposium on Advanced Technologies for R&D on Chinese Medicines (中藥研發前沿技術研討會 ) was jointly organized by the School of Chinese Medicine and Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin R&D Centre for Chinese Medicine, CUHK. The Symposium was held at the LT2, Yasumoto International Academic Park (YIA) on 24 May 2024 (Friday). There were 118 participants joined the seminar.
The main theme of the seminar was Advanced Technologies for R&D on Chinese Medicines, featuring the latest scientific research of the identification and quality control of Chinese medicine as well as drug discovery. Mr Tommy Y S Li, SBS, MH, JP (Hong Kong delegate to the National People’s Congress and the President of the Federation of the Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Chinese Medicines Traders Association) and Dr. Fong Ho Ching Edmund (Assistant Director of Health (Chinese Medicine), Department of Health) were the Guest of Honour to deliver welcoming speeches at the opening ceremony.
