9th International Barcode of Life Conference (iBOL)

02-06 September 2024

The iBOL Consortium, collaborating with the Vale Institute of Technology, organized the 9th International Barcode of Life Conference from September 3rd to 6th, 2024, in the Amazonian port city of Belém, Pará, Brazil. This in-person conference provided a unique opportunity to exchange and disseminate cutting-edge scientific knowledge about the latest DNA barcoding and metabarcoding advancements for species identification. Participants discussed the far-reaching implications of these developments for biodiversity conservation and sustainable practices. Leading figures in the scientific community, policymakers, representatives from conservation organizations, businesses, and stakeholders in the financial sector also joined the conference.

Our Research Associate, Dr. Johnson Chan, has given a poster presentation on ‘Identification of a found crocodile in Hong Kong SAR’ in the Conference.
