Prof. Shaw was invited to USP Headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, USA from 23 to 30 August, 2017 to discuss collaborative interactions between USP and the Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin R&D Centre for Chinese Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He was also invited to present the work to the USP staff as a part of the USP Research and Innovation Seminar series.
The opportunity to work together could offer unique, strategic benefits for both USP and the Centre in the area of botanical drugs and botanical dietary supplements. A mutual goal shared by USP and the Centre that could be reflected in a future relationship is to improve global health through public standards that help ensure the quality, safety, and benefit of herbal materials and products.
