To facilitate knowledge exchange on quality control and authentication of herbal material, the Centre director and staff visited THEi testing laboratory on 24 June 2021. Dr. Dawn Ching Tung Au, Assistant Professor of THEi, introduced the background of near-infrared (NIR) technology and demonstrated how the technology could be applied to testing of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It was a good opportunity to explore new testing methods and foster collaboration with a common goal of enhancing the standard of quality control and assurance of Chinese medicinal materials and products in Hong Kong.
